Antiche Cantine

The Antiche Cantine wine cellars have been owned by the family of Valentina Brugo since 1896, over 100 years.  Although they possess vineyards in Ghemme, Antiche Cantine is best known for producing a full range of noble red wines from the surrounding villages in the Novara Hills.  The winery and aging cellars are located in Romagnano Sesia on the banks of the Sesia River.  After this alpine river cuts through Gattinara and Ghemme and reaches the Po plain, its pure waters are utilized near Vercelli for the production of rice.  Wine quantities are limited at Antiche Cantine; only a few hundred cases are available for sale in America.  As the name implies, the winery is very traditional, using only large Slavonian oak botti.
